About Us!

Hello, from Laddie and Deborah Matusek. We have lived on this 10 acre-farm since January, 1977. We raised 3 daughters and one son, while Laddie operated his own shipyard in Palacios, and Debbie taught school. We began our love of horses as children, ourselves. However, our 2 mares did not come into our lives until 1997. In March, 1997, we finally found Chancy, a Leo granddaughter, for our youngest daughter, Leslie, to ride on a Matagorda County 4-H Drill Team, Texas Thunder. Chancy galloped her way into our hearts, as she supported Leslie through 2 State Horse Shows in Abilene, Texas. In June of 1997, our son, Robert, purchased an Arabian mare, Breath Omorn, locally. Little did we know the well-known bloodlines we had acquired in both mares. Thus, began our current endeavor.

The History Behind Our Horses:

Our AQHA registered mare, Mirror String (Chancy), is a 16-hands-high sorrel mare. She is a Leo granddaughter who also lists Go Man Go in her lineage. Chancy was bred in 1999, but aborted twin foals in July, 2000. On May 6, 2002, Chancy gave birth to a gorgeous palomino colt. Chancy was for many years the boss horse on our farm, but in 2006 we retired Chancy and gave her back to her previous owner.

We knew we were getting a great quarter horse bloodline in Chancy, but when we purchased Breath Omorn (Flash), we were ignorant of Arab lineage. Flash (dark bay), a registered pure-bred Arabian, has Polish (*Bask, *Witez II, *Raseyn) breeding, Crabbet (*Silwara,*Silver Drift), and Russian (Priboj)in her geneology. After much research and exclamations by two judges over her bloodlines, we decided to breed Flash to a bay Aladdinn stud, KK Noelle's Turbo. The breeding resulted in our first foal, DM Stormee Morn (chestnut)who was purchased in 2006 by a couple in New Mexico. Flash was bred in 2000 to a black *Bask bred stud, Blackjack Real, and foaled October 1, 2001 (blue black filly). Flash also gave us DM Tomahawk Chief. Stormee bore two fillies: DM Magestic Morning and Jamies Legacy DM. After escaping Hurricane Rita, we fled with our horses to Hutto, Texas. We left Flash there for our 2 granddaughters to enjoy.
