DM Heavenly Spots (Duke) wins a Reserve Grand the first time out!
Duke's first show, Star Arabian Horse Club Open Horse Show in Beeville, Texas, April 12, 2001.

Mike Meers, a native Georgian, began training Duke in March, 2001. He showed Duke in 3 classes and won two blue ribbons and a Reserve Grand Champion at Halter. Two weeks later, in Katy, Texas, Duke and Mike picked up another blue ribbon and a red ribbon at halter.

Duke picked up his first 5 official APHA OPAC halter points on Saturday, June 23, 2001, in Katy, Texas, as the A.R.A.B.S. Open Horse Show. He took first place Blue in the Paint Horse class --all ages (the only yearling in the class of 8). He also took first place Blue in the Pinto Class--all ages (the only yearling)against 6 horses, and took 2nd place Red in the Breed Challenge against 6 horses. He has 5 halter points to his credit on the APHA site.

After a successful 2004 Pinto Horse Association show season, Duke now officially has earned 24 Open Halter Points, 27 Tobiano Color Points, 5 Western Pleasure Points, 6 Amateur Open Halter Points, and 1 Trail Horse point. Duke took 6 Reserve Grand Championships at halter this season, as well as winning Western High Point Horse at the September South Texas Pinto Horse Club show in Seguin, Texas.
Duke won 3 blues and a Reserve Grand Championship at Halter at the July 17, 2004, South Texas Pinto Benefit Horse Show in Seguin, Texas. Duke is close to earning his ROM at halter and tobiano color. Duke, ridden by Mark Watkins, of JJ's Horseshoeing and Colt Breaking Service of Markham, Texas.
